Charter Day Weekend: April 24-27, 2015

A Sesquicentennial celebration of the first truly American university.

The Ithaca Campus Celebration

On April 27, 1865, the governor of New York State signed the bill that officially established Cornell University’s charter. In April 2015 the university held a four-day weekend commemorating this day in our history–the day that defined our land-grant mission and set the stage for generations of Cornellians to help, to solve, and to transform the world.

Thanks to all of you who helped us celebrate Charter Day Weekend: A Festival of Ideas and Imagination by attending the more than 40 events celebrating the global contributions of Cornell alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
